First you have to be clear about your aim. If you want to become a lecturer then PH.D is definitely an option. You should try to clear NET/SET/GATE to become eligible for admission in top institutions and universities.

If you are getting job on the basis of your present qualification then you should grab it. You can pursue your PH.D in distance mode as well if you are willing to do job.
