First of all you must have 55% marks in your Post Graduation from a recognized University then only you can apply for Ph.D admission. If you belong to reserved category then 50% marks is enough to make you eligible for Ph.D Admission.

Most of the Universities conduct entrance exam for giving admission in a Ph.D program. If you fulfill the above percentage criteria then apply for Ph.D admission when the notification is released by the respective University.

Candidates with a NET/SLET score or a M.Phil degree or teaching fellowship are exempted from entrance exam and are eligible for direct admission in Ph.D program.
