Eligibility for NET exam:
You should have passed post graduation in any stream from a recognized university with 55% marks. NET examination is conducted for two posts : 1.Junior research fellowship: your age should not be more than 28 years for this. 2.Lectureship: there is no upper limit of age for this examination. Re: Eligibility to appear for NET after scoring 55% marks in masters?
Below I have mentioned the eligibility criteria to appear for NET examination.
Kindly have a look at it. Eligibility Criteria: > The basic eligibility for appearing in UGC-NET exam is a Master degree or equivalent in related subjects. > Candidate must have a minimum of 55% (54.99% is not eligible) in it. > Candidates appearing or have appeared for final year exams are also eligible. > For appearing students they must produce their degree certificate within one year from the date of this test, otherwise they will be disqualified. > Candidates who have pursued the degree as specified by UGC only are eligible for the exam. > Candidate can appear for the related subject as studied in graduation. If the subjects are not covered as per UGC specification they can appear for their related subjects. > Candidates qualifying the exam will be called for document verification at final stage. > Candidates who have qualified the SET exam are also eligible to appear for this examination. |

Quote:
NET stands for National Eligibility Test. The educational qualification required for NET exam is masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for NET exam. There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years. |

Re: Eligibility to appear for NET after scoring 55% marks in masters?
If your University is UGC and DEC recognized then you are eligible for NET. DEC recognition is needed for correspondence degrees as your postgraduate degree is through correspondence.
And the marks required for being eligible is 55% minimum and rounded off marks are not allowed. If you know about your University being UGC and DEC recognized then you need not worry about eligibility. |
