It has been mentioned that a the cut off for SET is 55%. What is the cut off for NET? I have scored below 55% for my masters degree. Can I Still apply? It is very important for me to get through. My result for masters degree is purely circumstantial. Will there be no consideration?

Re: Can students below 55% marks in Masters apply for NET?
I am sorry but the criteria for NET exam is same as the SET Exam. Therefore you are not eligible to apply for National Eligibility Test either. You can only apply for NET if belongs to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe community.
Otherwise there is no way to apply for the NET exam. There is hardly any difference between SET and NET exam. SET stands for State Eligibility Test and it is conducted by each state separately. While NET which means National Eligibility Test is a central level exam conducted by the University Grants Commission. Both exams are conducted for college lectureship and PhD. Even if you have scored 54.99 percent marks, that makes you ineligible to apply for NET exam. It is because there is no round off given to the candidates. Eligibility 1. Only Indian citizens can apply. 2. A post graduation degree in any discipline. 3. Must have completed PG from a UGC recognized university. 4. Minimum of 55 percent marks. 5. SC/ST need minimum of 50 percent marks. 6. There should be no pending backlogs. 7. Final year students of post graduation can also apply. 8. You should select NET subject which is relevant to your post graduation course. 9. The age limit for JRF is 28 years. 10. There is 3 years relaxation for OBC. 11. Five years relaxation is given to SC/ST. 12. There is no upper age limit for college lectureship. 13. There is no limit on number of attempts. |
