Admission Procedure:-
The admission procedure varies from one university to another university. So, first select any university and try to contact university admission office to know about the exact admission procedure.

For getting admission you have to apply for admission on a prescribed application format when the notification is released for Ph.D admission. You should be a Master's in Sociology qualified candidate with 55% marks for becoming eligible for admission. After your application reaches the University you will be called for interview. Performance in interview and your academics will be taken into account for giving admission.

Master of Philosophy (M.Phil). The duration of the course is two years.

The minimum eligibility criterion for pursuing an M.Phil in Sociology is holding a Master degree in any stream from a recognized university. The candidate should secure a minimum of 55 % of aggregate marks in the qualifying degree. Candidates who have specialization in Sociology in their graduation are preferred at the time of admission.

The admission to the M.Phil course is based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam which is conducted by the respective university. Those candidates who clear the entrance exam have to clear the interview in order to get admission.
