I am a student studying in 6th semester ECE branch. What kind of projects or publications would impress the core companies and help us to get a job in these core companies??? Can you please guide me with the right suggestion on the same? Thank you!

The matter of the project is not of utmost importance when it comes to impressing the interviewers. What matters the most is how you answer the questions and how you present your project. Usually it is good of you can do a research based project especially if you can publish an IEEE paper. Apart from this, always aim to do the project in the field of your strength as there will be multiple questions from it and answering them well will definitely create good impression in the mind of the interviewer.
