How to approach for admission in Sainik Schools and Military Schools?

For admission in Sainik Schools, there is an entrance examination held for class 6th and 9th. Candidates in between the age of 10-11 years and 13-14 years respectively as on 1st July of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to sit for the examination. For admission to class 9th, candidates should be studying in class 8th in a recognized school. Admissions are made strictly in order of merit only in classes 6th and 9th.

Rashtriya military school offers admission for class 6 and class 9 students.

The admission will be done by conducting an common entrance test. The admission is purely based on merit.

The application form is available at the respective military school by paying prescribed fee. The interested candidate's can fill the application form with all the necessary details and submit it to the school.

Admission is only to boys in Sainik Schools for VI and IX only. The age limit is 10 years to 11 years for VI standard and 13 years to 14 years for IX standard. The entrance examination is held for admission to class VI and IX. The qualified candidates have to face the interview at the school and medical board in the Government Civil Hospital.

In Rashtriya Military Schools the common entrance test will be conducted for the admission to class VI and IX. For admission of XI the X marks will be considered. Priority will be given to children of serving Army Personnel, Army War Widows, Assam Rifles, etc. you have to check the website of the Army School you want admission. Because lots of army schools are available in India in many states.
