Re: Is it preferred to do 12th class part time and pay full attention to IIT preparation?
Yes you can advice that to him but before you must make sure that he is willing to study the course of Engineering and also ask him if he is interested in Science Subjects.
If he is interested then it is advisable to him to study 12th Board Part Time but from a recognized Board and then prepare for the IIT Entrance Examination(JEE Main and JEE Advanced). So make sure that everything is very clear before you commit to this plan. Also ensure that he is admitted to a Board which is a recognized Board. |

Re: Is it preferred to do 12th class part time and pay full attention to IIT preparation?
As the syllabus for JEE is same as the syllabus of class 12, then why to study it in part time basis. My suggestion is that study class 12 on regular basis along with the JEE preparation. As the foundation for JEE preparation is class 12 syllabus. Continue the same class 12 and give much importance to JEE, but keep in mind that if you have not passed class 12 examination then you are not eligible to appear for JEE.

Sir, please don't take such decision as taking in consideration that he has failed in his Boards you should make him concentrate on his Boards first and after that you can make him prepare for IIT. So let him do full time Boards and then on IIT.

Re: Is it preferred to do 12th class part time and pay full attention to IIT preparation?
Yes you can do that but as per the new rules, marks in class XII also play a great role in the selection of the candidates. Hence it is recommended that you should not just focus everything on your class XII preparation but also you need to have a glance over the class XII. This will give you revision also which would be very helpful in building the fundamentals.
