Re: Whether employees of government aided schools can be said as Public servant?
Government aided schools are not exactly government schools they are public schools. In these schools the teachers salaries are paid by the the private shareholders not the government. Hence we cannot call their employees as public servants.
Exactly public servant by definition is a person who works for the state or for local government, such as a judge or teacher. The police officials, the Bureaucrats, the lawyers, government school teachers, Doctors etc are called public servants. Because they work for the public and are paid for their work by the local government or state government. But the government aided school teachers will be called private employees. only that school higher authorities can challenge them or can dismiss them or give them a bonus for the excellent work done by them. These public school teachers only work for the betterment of their school or school students and not for the entire public or society. These employees are not answerable to all public people. Hence this is the difference between a public servant and a private employee. I hope now your doubts are cleared.. You must not again confuse between the two words that is private employees and public servants. good luck. |

one professor working in the aided branch of an aided technical Institution was deputed by the state government to work as Principal of a private engineering college for a period of three years. when he joined the private institution he managed to get grants from the state and central governments. he has spent that money for the faculty development of that college. In this context whether the Principal of private engg college be considered as public/government servant

Re: Whether employees of government aided schools can be said as Public servant?
Aided school employees are appointed and terminated by the management and pay and drawing officer is management only. The acts of the management are subject to approval only. Thus the employer for aided schools and colleges employees is the management only. They are not public servant. they will not be considered even as employees of Government under taking even.
