How should I join Chartered Accountant after completing B.Com?


i completed b.com. now iam interested to join charted accountant. iam in chennai. so, please help me and tell, what is the first step to join ca?

Since you have completed your bachelors degree program in commerce, you may get complete exemption from taking Common Proficiency Test provided you have qualified your bachelors degree examination with a minimum of 55% marks. However, if you have passed your bachelors degree examination with less than 55% marks, you will have first of all register for the Common Proficiency Test and will need to qualify it in order to move on top the next stages of the chartered accountancy course which are as follows:

Integrated Professional Competence Course
Information Technology Training
Artcileship Training
Final Course
General Management and Communication Skill Course

Commerce graduates with 55% marks or more in the qualifying examination are considered eligible to enroll directly for the Integrated Professional Competence Course.

The registration for both Common Proficiency Test as well as Integrated Professional Competence Course is open throughout the year and in order to register yourself, you may obtain the prospectus along with the application form from any of the regional Council or branches of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
