Lunglei District is one of the biggest districts in the state of Mizoram and the district is bounded by the country of Bangladesh in the West, Myanmar by the east, Saiha and Lawngtlai district of Mizoram to the south and Serchhip and Mamit District to the north. The district is spread over an area of 4538 square kilometers and the population of the district according to the census conducted in the year 2001 was 1,37,155 people. The district has three civil sub-divsions namely Hnahthail, Tlabung and Lunglei Sadar subdivisions and it also has four rural development blocks being Bunghmun, Lungsen, Hnahthial and Lunglei.

How to reach Lunglei District?

Lunglei, which is the second capital of the state of Mizoram is well connected by train and air transportation facilities, the nearest rail head being Silchar, while the nearest airport is Lengpui. The district is connected by Road through National Highway 54 via Thenzawl and Serchhip and for visit the capital city of Aizawl, bus service and maxi cab services are available not only during day time, but in night times as well.

This college came into existence in the year 1963 and initially the college was affiliated to the Guwahati University and after the establishment of North Eastern Hill University, the college was brought under the affiliation of this university in the year 1973.
