Government Jobs in Handloom Sector
The handloom sector in India is showing a steady progress and the Government of India is also introducing new plans to further enhance the efficiency, productivity and production of the handloom sector thereby improving the socio-economic status of the handloom weavers.
The government is also taking every steps to upgrade the skills of the handloom weavers and is also offering them with marketing and infrastructural input support.
As far as this sector is concerned, the only government organization in India is National Handloom Development Corporation of India. However, this government organization has offices at different states of India like Kerala, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and other states as well and personnel are required in all these branches of the organization.
Different job positions available in Government handloom sector:
Recently the National Handloom Development Corporation of India called for applications from candidates for the following positions:
• Superintendent
• Deputy manager
• Senior manager
• Chief manager
• Junior Assistant
• Assistant Manager
What is the educational qualification required for entering the handloom sector of Government?
When the National Development Corporation of India called for candidates for the above-mentioned positions, the company required that the candidates must be degree holders in any of the following disciplines:
• Textile Technology
• Textile Engineering
• Handloom Technology
• Master of Business Administration with specialization in marketing
The organization also insisted that candidates must have working knowledge of computer applications like internet and MS Office.
What might be the pay scale for jobs in Handloom Sector?
The pay scale announced by the government organization for the position of chief manager is Rs.32900-58000, for senior manager position is Rs. 29100-54500, for deputy manager position is Rs. 20600-46500 and for superintended position is Rs. 10800-24500.
What is the age limit for joining the government handloom sector?
Since the government organization called for experienced personnel for the above-mentioned position the maximum age limit of the candidates was fixed at 45 years. However, when it comes to inexperience personnel, they expect candidates between the age group of 20-35 years.
Scope of handloom sector:
Government of India has introduced several plans like Diversified Handloom Development scheme, mail gate price scheme, handloom weavers comprehensive welfare scheme, marketing and export promotion scheme and integrated handloom development scheme for the upliftment of handloom sector. This scheme has further improved the employment opportunities in this sector since the government organizations require candidates to successfully implement these schemes. Therefore, a person finding job in handloom sector can have a bright future.
