Government Jobs in Ministry of Women & Child Development
Ministry of Women and Child Development was established by the Government of India and it is apex body in the administration and formulation of law, rules and regulations pertaining to child and women development in the country.
Actually, it began its functions in 1985 as a portion of Ministry of Human Resource Development in the name of Department of Women and Child Development to meet the requirements of children and women in the country. It was upgraded from the status of department under a ministry, to a separate ministry in the year 2006.
Organizations working under the ministry:
Ministry of Women & Child Development has six autonomous bodies under its control and names of these bodies are as follows:
• Rashtriya Mahila Kosh
• Central Social Welfare Board
• Central Adoption Resource Agency
• National Commission for protection of Child rights
• National Commission for Women
• National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development
The activities of the Ministry of Women & Child Development are performing its duties through the following six bureaus:
• Women Development and Welfare, Vigilance & Administration
• Financial Advise
• Statistical Unit, Plan Research, Monitoring & Evaluation
• Child Prostitution & Gender Budgeting
• Child Welfare & Child Protection, Information Technology, Co-ordinations, Hindi & Parliament
• ICDS, Food & Nutrition Board, World Bank, Training
In addition to the above-mentioned autonomous bodies, some of the child related institutions associated with the ministry are National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development and The Central Social Welfare Board.
Schemes by the ministry:
The ministry carries out various schemes for ensuring child and women development. Some of the schemes introduced by the ministry in this respect are Nutrition Programme for Adolescent Girls, Wheat Based Nutrition Programme, Integrated Child Protection Scheme, Integrated Child Development Scheme, and An Integrated Programme for Street Children, etc…
