The class 10 Biology Exam is conducted every year by the Indian Council of Secondary Education every year. The course of the subject aims at enabling the students to acquire the idea of the economic values of various animals and plants. The curriculum is such that the students can understand the inter relationship between environmental adaption and sustainability. The pupils can understand the interdependence of animals and plants and they can develop a clear comprehension of significance of them in human welfare. The course also aims to make the students able to handle biological students carefully and how they can implement the knowledge of the subject to the benefit of mankind.

The pattern of the exam is given below:

There is single paper carrying 80 marks. The remaining 20 marks are for Internal Assessment of practical. 10 marks will be evaluated by the teacher and remaining 10 by external examiner. The duration of the paper is one and a half hours.

There are two sections in the paper:

Both the Sections carry 40 marks. Section I consists of compulsory short questions. These questions cover the entire syllabus. Section II consists of six questions out of which 4 are to be answered.
