The Computer Software Fundamentals Paper is set for the students to analyse their knowledge in computer programming and software understand ability. It also puts an emphasis on the application skills and their knowledge about the computer architecture and relation with software.

Candidates must have completed their senior secondary or equivalent, but the prerequisite for this exam is a science background of the students. Also those students who have not received their results can also appear for the exam.

The IETE DIPIETE (Old Scheme) Computer Software Fundamentals Paper consists of basically subjective type of questions. The question paper consists of 20 objective type questions with equal marks each. The question paper also consists of theoretical type of questions carrying equal marks each.

Overview of the paper

The paper consists of a total of nine questions. The first question is compulsory and it is required by the students to write the answers to the corresponding questions in the space provided in the answer sheets. A total of five questions excluding the first question are to be attempted by the candidates, with each question carrying 16 marks.

Marking:

The total marks for the paper is 100. The first question carries 20 marks and the remaining 5 questions carry 16 marks each.

Time Allotted

A maximum of three hours is given for the paper.
