Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi is the government approved Institute for aviation. Institute is an autonomous Body under the ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of Delhi. Institute is well known for offering flying training course to achieve a commercial pilot license. Institute is located in UP for providing this job oriented course to the eligible candidates.

In India there was not a single institute which provides the modern flying training skills and various technical training related to the flying training since 1985. This institute is one of the oldest training institutes which provide all the training skills to the candidates. The institute is decorated with the modern technology based aircraft for the training of the candidates. It has provided the team of well experienced and quality pilot from the various parts of the country and the world so that they may give their best skills to the candidates. Due to the hard labor and devoted team work of their training instructors the institute provides the best pilot to the various government and non-government flying body.

The institute is located in the green and natural environment of the Delhi covering a large area. It has world class infrastructure in the form of large hostel for the pilots and for the various cultural and sports programs. The institute has a large area field for providing different training skills. The institute provides a world class training skills so that the candidates can work in entire world wherever they got a chance.

Courses offered by the IGRUA:

• Ground and Flying Training to Ab-Initio Candidates to achieve a Pilot License (15- 18 months): total 60 seats to be inducted in batches every 3 months from December 2010 onwards.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have done 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as main subjects with minimum 55% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. (for SC/ ST candidates minimum marks for eligibility are 50%)

• Candidates applying for this course must be more than 17 years of age at the time of joining.

Important Dates:

• Commencement of course: September 2011

• Written Test:  3rd week of May, 2011

. Result Declaration: 4th week of May, 2011

• Last date for submission of application forms: 2nd week of  April, 2011

Selection Criteria:

• Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of Entrance Test on all India basis, Pilot Aptitude Test (WOMBAT), Viva and Interview.
