Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those who have secured at least first class or 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ ST) in M.Sc or equivalent degree in subjects related to Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry is eligible for the IIT Bombay Ph.D in Biotechnology Entrance Exam. Those who have completed their M.Tech or equivalent degree in Biotechnology are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply?

The candidates can apply for the IIT Bombay Ph.D in Biotechnology Entrance Exam through the website www.iitb.ac.in. After online registration, the printout of the submitted application has to be send to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Indian

Institute of Technology Bombay, Powai, Mumbai – 400076. The application fee is to be paid by SBI Internet Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / Online Payment

System / Demand Draft which drawn in favor of Registrar, IIT Bombay. The DD should be payable at IIT Powai / Mumbai branch of Canara Bank or SBI , . One can also download the application form from the Institute website. The candidate can procure the information brochure and application form in person or by sending a DD from the Academic Office at IIT Bombay. The application fee for collecting the form is Rs. 300/­ (Rs. 150/- in case of SC / ST candidates). The duly filled application form along with the necessary enclosures has to be sent in a 27cm X 20cm size envelope to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Indian Institute of Technology , Bombay, Powai, Mumbai – 400076 (on or before the last date).

How to fill the Form?

All the information necessary to fill the application form will be mentioned in the information brochure. The candidates must read those instructions given in the information brochure carefully before filling the form. All the columns should be completed neatly and clearly furnishing the exact details. The applicants must ensure that the required enclosures along with the application forms reach the destination before the dead line. On top of the envelope, write ‘Application form for Ph.D. Programme’.

All the topics in the syllabus have to be covered.
