After Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service, Indian Forest Service is the most respectable job in India. The exam is conducted by UPSC every year to select candidates for the recruitment in forest services of Indian government.

Qualification for appearing in this exam:

First condition is that a candidate must be a citizen of India. Minimum education qualification is graduation in any field from a recognised institution or University. No. of attempts which can be taken is 4 by a candidate. However there is relaxation in these criteria for SC/ST/OBC candidates according to the policies. Impersonation is strictly checked by UPSC.

Scoring and Negative Marking:

There are questions which are of 40 marks. All questions are of subjective type, hence there are no negative marking in it.

Mode of Exam:

Answers are to be written conventionally on a paper. Questions asked are of theoretical as well as numerical paper.

Format:

Paper is of 2 sections containing 4 questions each. Each question is of 4 sub-questions in it. Questions are of numerical & theoretical type.

Paper Pattern:

Paper of Indian Forest Service, Statistics II is a conventional paper. There are 8 questions which are further divided into 2 sections equally. In total 5 questions are to be written. 1st question from each section is necessary to be attempted. Remaining 3 questions are to be chosen from rest 6 questions taking at-least 1 from each question. Each question is of same marks.

Marking:

There are 200 marks to be scored by the candidates. Marks can be obtained by writing in an impressive way.

Schedule:

Time which is allotted to the paper is 3 hours only.
