Physics is one of the optional subjects for IFS entrance exams. Physics paper II includes Quantum Mechanics, Atomic Physics, Nuclear Physics, Molecular Physics, Solid State Physics, Particle Physics and Electronics. Student must prepare all these topics for getting good score in this subject.

Eligibility for the entrance test:

  • Students must be citizen of India.
  • He/she must have completed his/her graduation from any recognised university.
  • Students can appear in this exam only for 4 times, except for SC/ST candidates

Division in the Paper:

The paper is divided into two sections. Section A contains questions from Quantum Mechanics, Molecular Physics and Atomic Physics. Section B contains questions from Nuclear Physics, Particle Physics, Solid State Physics and Electronics.

Mode of examination:

Paper of Indian Forest Service is held 2 times in a year. The questions asked are of numerical as well as subjective type. There are 8 questions asked in the paper from which 5 are to be attempted and these questions are divided in 2 groups equally. Question no. 1 & 5 are compulsory and rest 3 are to be chosen from remaining questions, choosing 1 from each section. Each question is of equal marks. There is no negative marking in the paper.

Tips for the paper:

Paper of IFS, Physics II is highly competitive paper and questions are required to be solved with proper attention to fetch maximum marks as it is checked manually. Answers should be with proper diagram and charts. Values of required data are given in paper and those values are to be used.

Total marks and time:

Maximum marks to be obtained by aspirants are 200 and time assigned is 3 hours only.
