Institute of Rail Transport 2011 Diploma
Institute of Rail Transport provides Programmes in Rail Transport Management, Transport Economics and Management and Multi Modal Transport and Logistics Management. The institute was established in 1964 and since then has been successfully conducting programmes in the sector. Its programmes are recognised by Distance Learning-IGNOU. The Institute aims at upbringing of the candidates with an equality sense and entrusting on them, about the Manner through which they would be responsible for upliftment of the society.
The institute has its headquarters in Delhi with branches at all nine zonal Railway Headquarters-Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, Gorakhpur, Secunderabad and also Research Design and Standards Organisation at Lucknow, Integral Coach Factory at Chennai, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works at Chittaranjan, Diesel Locomotive Works at Varanasi, Wheel & Axle Plant at Bangalore, Centre for Railway Information Services (CRIS) at New Delhi and Rail Coach Factory at Kapurthala.
The institute has emerged to be an outstanding government owned college that provides well established training to the candidates belonging from all genera of the society. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have a Diploma/Degree in any discipline. Those in their final year of the qualifying programme can also apply. However these candidates have to provide the original copy of the Certificate of Merit to the concerned authority as per the stipulated date. Candidates of both 10+2 as well as Under Graduate Diploma are eligible to apply for the course.
Availability of Application forms:
The forms will be available from the main headquarters in Delhi and all the branches. The form can also be obtained by post from IRT-Delhi by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form. The candidates have to specifically place a specimen of their signature at the back side of the Demand Draft. This has to be also done in with the requisite letter.

I was joined Rail Transport Diploma during the year 1990 and I was called for examination in Secundrabad Taranaka. I had attended the exam, I failed in 4 Subjects after then I was called for reexamination in Calcutta for 1991-92 with reg.no. 1705, but due to my ill health I could not attend the examination at present I am working for South Western Railway, Hubli Division Karnataka as a junior Enggnr. G-I , kindly allow me to continue for further examinination. If rule doesnot permit to allow kindly allow me to start as a fresh candidate.
I hope you will consider my request and allow me to re-write the exam, and continue my studies.
