Jharkhand, one of the newly formed states, set up its academic council in the year 2007 and since then the system has matured to a very high extent which is best described by its class X Science paper.

About the Science Paper

The paper comprises of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and all the three sub-parts are being given more or less equal weightage and moreover the paper has all types of questions starting from objective type to very long type questions. For each question a word limit is set and so students should write accordingly and hence the answers should be precise and to the point.

Subject division:

The exam is of 60 marks and is divided into two groups. Physics and Chemistry are clubbed into a single group of 40 marks and the second group comprises of Biology and is of 20 marks. Each group starts with one word type questions then moves to short answer type questions which are to be written in 30-50 words and ends up with long answer type questions which are to be written in around 70 words. Many times some direct diagrammatic questions are also asked.
