MBBS is the only undergraduate course offered in Sree Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC). Total number of seats allotted for the course is 130. Eligible candidates can seek admission to the course on the basis of their score in Karnataka Common Entrance Test.  Selection to the course is also done according to the policies and practices of management.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must possess certain eligibility conditions to join MBBS program in SSMC. One must have any of the following educational qualifications to seek admission.

Candidate must have passed HSC course from P.U Board, Karnataka State. He or she must have passed the examinationwith English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects.

Aspirants who have passed HSC or equivalent examination, approved by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences are also considered eligible

Candidate should have passed the first year studies of a three year course, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. Such candidates must have cleared a practical test in these subjects.

B.Sc degree holders can apply for MBBS course. They should have obtained B.Sc degree in Physics, Chemistry or Biology as subjects and must possess minimum 50% aggregate marks in any of the two subjects mentioned.

Those who possess equivalent educational qualifications from any of the recognized Indian Universities are considered eligible.

NRI/Foreigners who have passed HSC equivalent course, from any of the institutions or Board approved by Indian Universities will also be considered. Age of the applicants must not be less than 17 years.

Selection Procedure

Total number of seats allotted for MBBS course in SSMC is 130. Out of this, admission to 50% seats is done on the basis of Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Remaining seats are filled according to the policies and norms of the management.

Karnataka CET will have two papers. Paper I comprises of questions from Physics and Chemistry. Paper II includes questions from Mathematics and Biology. Those who seek admission to medical courses like MBBS, needs to attempt Biology sections in paper II. Total time allotted for completing two papers is 4 hours.

Admission Process

Short listed candidates must go through a personal interview. Certificate verification is also done at the time of personal interview. Necessary documents like mark list of the qualifying exam, score card of KCET, etc are verified in this section. Final selection is offered after considering all these factors. Selected candidates must pay admission fee, caution deposit, first year fee, etc at the time of admission.
