Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is a part of Punjab State Electricity Board. Actually, Punjab State Electricity Board is divided into two seperate companies named Punjab State Power Corporation Limit and Punjab State Transmission Corporation limited. Punjab State Power Corporation Limited is responsible for managing generation and disrtibution of power in the state. On the otherhand, Punjab State Transmission corporation Limited is mainly responsible for the management of transimmision functions. Mr. K. D. Chaudhary is the present Chariamn cum Managing Director of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited.

Job Profile:

Candidates are being invited by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited for filling up the nearly 5000 vacant posts of Lineman. Only eligible candidates should apply for the post. Candidates will be selected purely on contract basis for a limited period of time. Applying candidates should have completed 2 years Apprenticeship in the trade of Lineman in PSPCL/PSTCL.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post is 18 years as on 1 January 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post is 37 years as on 1 January 2011.

Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years and 10 years for the SC/ST candidates and Physically Handicapped candidates, respectively.

Educational Qualification:

Matriculation or equivalent is required for the post alongwith the possession of a National Apprenticeship Certificate in Lineman Trade. Candidates possessing Diploma in Electrical Engineering will be considered for the post only when they possess National Apprenticeship Certificate in Lineman Trade as their minimum educational qualification. Interested candidates must have passed matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subject.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the consolidated salary of Rs. 10000 per month.

Application Fee:

Candidates ( General and OBC categories )should deposit the application fee of Rs. 206 in any branch of State Bank of Patiala. Rs. 56 is need to be submitted by the candidates through a payment challan which is available at PSPCL website.

Selection Process:

Candidate’s selection on the repective post will be made purely on merit basis. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained by them in National Apprenticeship Certificate in Lineman Trade. More qualified candidates will not get any preference over the less qualified candidates.
