The Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University is a State University operating from the state of Assam and the university holds the pride of being the first and only state open university in the North-Eastern part of the nation. The university was established under a state legislative assembly act of the year 2005. The university actually came into existence in the year 2006 and earned recognition from the Distance Education Council in the year 2007, from the University Grant Commission in the year 2009.
