Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya is a deemed university offering education from the city of Kancheepuram in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. The institute came into existence as a college and it was conferred the status of deemed university in the year 1993 by the Ministry of HRD under section 3 of the UGC Act. The institution was established under the aegis of the Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust and it is located in a sprawling complex spread over 50 acres of land at Enathur in Kanchipuram at a distance of about 4 kms from the city of Kanchipuram. The university also has campuses at Chennai and Poonamalle and it houses a hospital, research centre and Ayurveda Colleges at is campus at Kachipuram.
Sri Chandrawekarendra Saraswati Viswa Maha Vidyalaya offers education under the faculties of health science, education, arts and humanities, management, human resource & commerce, science, engineering & technology and faculty of Sanskrit and Indian Culture. Each of these faculties has their own departments for offering a wide range of course to the future citizens of the nation. The university offers scholarships to meritorious students under two different schemes being merit scholarships and merit-cum-meant scholarships. Admission of students to the different courses offered by the Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya is done based on the merit secured by candidates in the qualifying examination and on the basis of counseling. Additionally, entrance examination is conducted for admission to the MBA and B.E (full-time) courses alone. Admission to B.E. is done based on AIEEE score followed by counseling and candidates should be accompanied by their parents or guardian at the time of counseling, which is made as a compulsory practice by the university.
