Merchant Polytechnic College was established by Shree Merchant Charitable Trust and it is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University. The college is located at Basna Visnagar-Mehsana road and the diploma courses offered by the college are approved by AICTE.

Merchant Polytechnic is offering diploma courses under the following branches of engineering:

Admission Procedure:

Of the total number of seats 75% of seats of professional diploma courses offered by the college shall be filled by centralized diploma admission committee of Government Polytechnic located at Ahmedabad and 25% seats, which is inclusive of 15% of NRI seats are filled by the management committee of the college. The college is also following other admission procedures as prescribed by the education department of the Government of Gujarat from time to time. For admission, marks secured by the students in secondary school examination in subjects like social science, English, science, mathematics and regional/national/optional language are considered.

Facilities:

The computer laboratories in the college are fully air-conditioned with more than 120 computers loaded with latest configuration. The other labs in the college for civil engineering, electrical, electronics & communication engineering, mechanical engineering are also provided with high quality instruments for offering quality practical education to the students. The library of the college subscribes for newspapers, journals and magazines related to computer technologies and have a collection of reference books for different branches of engineering.

The Merchant Polytechnic College aims at offering quality technical education through diploma courses to the students who have passed out their SSLC examination as per the norms specified by technical examination board and AICTE. It also aims at producing perfect entrepreneurs and technicians for the nation.
