MNNIT 2011 MCA
Motilal Nehru-National Institute of Technology admits students to its Master of Computer Applications on the basis of NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test). MN-NIT was established in 1961 as a joint venture between Gvernment of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh. Formerly it was Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College until 2002 when it became Deemed University. Being an NIT it has very good facilities and infrasturucture for education.
Motilal Nehru-National Institute of Technology offers its students with very good placement opportunities with top companies. Admission to its MCA programmes is based on NIMCET which is a common entrance test for admission to MCA Programmes of all NITs. The centres for NIMCET are all the NITs, MSIT and AIT in Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must have minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5/10 CGPA in 12th as well as Graduation. For SC/ST candidates they should have got atleast 55% aggregate of 6/10 CGPA. Candidates should also have studied Maths/Statistics/Business Maths in Graduation as well as 12th.
How to apply for NIMCET 2011:
Candidates are required to fill an online form. After filling the form they have to take a print out and send it along with the photocopies of the specified documents and a demand draft.
Important Dates (Tentative):
Date of Entrance Examination: May 3rd week, 2011
Availability of Application Forms: February 4th week-March 4th week, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: April 1st week, 2011
Announcement of Results: May End, 2011
Please note that the dates are only tentative and are not final. The post will be updated as soon as the dates are officially released.
Pattern of examination:
The duration of exam will be of 2 hours and there will be 120 multiple choice questions with four choices of each question. Each correct answer will carry 4 marks and wrong answer will attract 1 negative mark.
Questions will be distributed as follows:
Mathematics - 40 questions
Analytical ability and Logical Reasoning -55 questions
Computer awareness – 10 questions
General English – 15 questions
