M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering M.Tech
Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The course of M.Tech in Electrical Engineering is a master’s degree course awarded by many universities in India. The discipline was identified as an occupational field during the late nineteenth century after electric telegraph became so called commercial. The stream now covers a range of subtopics which includes power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. The electrical engineers have a variety of options available for them in the market when it comes to take up a job.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the afore mentioned course, candidates must at least be graduates having earned their B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and the degree should be a valid one. Moreover, some colleges also demand a certain minimum percentile of marks.
Course Outlook
The course of M.Tech in Electrical Engineering is of two years in duration in general. In some places, it is also of three years. The two years are further divided into two half yearly semesters each.
Job Prospects
The work places of the electrical engineers are as varied as the types of work they do. From being in a fabrication lab to an underground mine to the offices of an IT firm, electrical engineers can be found everywhere. The works of these people are generally related to the application of electricity with the help of communication in various fields. The market for electrical engineers is fastest growing in South Asian countries including India.

i did my b.tech electronics and communication in 2011 . and right now i am in mahindra two wheelers in(electrical R&D ) department.. i have one year experience in operation and maintanence… and now in R&D…. so which stream is better in m.tech… bassically related to automotive.
Iam electrical engineer having 20 + years of experience in this field and presently working as Senior consultant for 330 KV project and following are my credentials :
Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering having 78% from State board of technical education -tamil nadu passed out at 1988.
Bacheloar of Engineering ( computer science and engineering) from colloge of Engg. Guindy in 2002 and scored 76% marks and passed out successfully in part-time scheme of study
My querry :
Iam interested in doing M . Tech power system - Electrical , am i eligible to apply to accredited university. I wish to do the same via distance mode from reputed and accreditated university from India/ Abroad under your guidance. please guide me to shape my carrier, and acquire master degree in the field where iam continuing my profession
