Electrical Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The course of M.Tech in Electrical Engineering is a master’s degree course awarded by many universities in India. The discipline was identified as an occupational field during the late nineteenth century after electric telegraph became so called commercial. The stream now covers a range of subtopics which includes power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. The electrical engineers have a variety of options available for them in the market when it comes to take up a job.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for the afore mentioned course, candidates must at least be graduates having earned their B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and the degree should be a valid one. Moreover, some colleges also demand a certain minimum percentile of marks.
Course Outlook
The course of M.Tech in Electrical Engineering is of two years in duration in general. In some places, it is also of three years. The two years are further divided into two half yearly semesters each.
Job Prospects
The work places of the electrical engineers are as varied as the types of work they do. From being in a fabrication lab to an underground mine to the offices of an IT firm, electrical engineers can be found everywhere. The works of these people are generally related to the application of electricity with the help of communication in various fields. The market for electrical engineers is fastest growing in South Asian countries including India.
