There are very few universities in the country that has the capacity and enough faculties to offers excellent quality education which is difficult to find elsewhere. Students of the university doing BE Instrumentation have to study transducer during the 3rd semester and at the end of the semester, they have to answer the paper Transducers 1.

Details on the subject

The subject is mainly based on electronics and is about transducers as the subject’s name suggests. Transducer is any device that allows energy to be converted from of form to another. The subject is about the study of construction and working of various transducers that are commonly used.

Paper setting

The paper does not have any sections. It consists of a total of 7 questions. The candidates have to answer four questions in all. This is including Question 1 which is compulsory. All the questions have a minimum of two sub questions within them. Within a question, there is no option for choosing.

Evaluation scheme and time allotted

The paper is marked out of 100. The pass percent of the subject is 40%. The time allotted for completing the paper is 3 hours and reading time of 15 minutes will also be allotted.

A few areas covered by the syllabus are:

•    Electromagnetism
•    Photovoltaic cells
•    Hall effect sensor
•    Photo diode
•    Peltier cooler

Ways to score good marks

The only way to score well is by mastering the whole syllabus followed by regular practice of the question paper. Previous year question papers will help to understand the trend of the questions in the paper.
