The Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology was built in the year 1954 and is considered as one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. It started its journey with only one course with strength of 45. The foundation stone of this institute was laid by the first prime minister of India Pd. Jawaharlal Nehru for providing higher education to its students.

Campus:

The Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology has very beautiful campus which is spread over an area of 55 acres of land. The institute campus is about 3.5 to 4 kms from the city railway junction. It is located at the north-west part of Muzaffarpur city. The institute gives fully fledged campus to its students. The campus of this institute holds facilities like modern library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium and workshops.

Admission Procedure:

Admission for various degree courses is mainly based on the scores obtained in the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination which is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board. The students are shortlisted for the counselling programs. The appearing candidates must have completed their higher secondary or its equivalent exam from a recognized board of India.
