The examination of NET or National Eligibility Test has various subjects and is an objective type based question format used to test one excellence in one’s own subject of interest. There are two papers in this particular subject paper 2 and paper 3.Paper three is a subjective based question and again has two types A and B.A has 10 long essay type answers each having 16 marks and B has a compulsory question section on objectives.

Paper pattern:

It has 26 questions in total and there are four sections. Section 1 and 2 are compulsory whereas there are options in section 3 and 4.Section 1 has 5 questions each of 5 marks. Section 2 has 15 questions and one has 75 marks allotted to it. Section 4 and 3 has optional questions from the optional subjects and are of 60 and 40 marks respectively. All the answers are essay types or elaborate ones, and one needs to answer them in the space given for the answering along with the question sheet.

Maximum time allotted and maximum marks:

The maximum time a person is allotted to finish this paper is 2 and a half hour and the maximum marks is 200.

Frequently asked questions involve the construction of a 8085 assembly language programming, database designing, calculations of the probability of collision and success, complexity of searches and their calculations, ER diagram, UML diagram, DFD, Security aspects of the networks, Oracle, XML passes. Generation of frame based animation, concepts of memory organization and allocation, like external fragmentation, internal fragmentation, and Chomsky classification. The following concepts are also very important- paradigm, finite automata, parsing and parse trees, inheritance, polymorphism etc. There are five elective papers for the optional subject and one needs to follow the syllabus accordingly.

    Is Computer Science and Engineering one of the subjects under csir-ugc net ?
    The upper age limit for jrf candidates is 28.Is there any relaxation of age for csir-ugc(jrf) exam for female candidates?
    Does UGC conduct separate exams for jrf and LS or one has to sit for one common exam ? Please respond.
