NET Population Studies (Paper II) Papers
Population Studies Paper II is a 100 marks paper. It comprises of 50 objective type questions with multiple alternatives. Each question carries two marks. You need to answer all of them. It is a scoring paper in that you should be able to handle it well. Since December 2009, negative marking has been introduced so as to avoid the students from making rough guesses to answer the questions. You can still use the elimination method to find the correct answer. For each wrong answer a 25% gets cut on the overall marks.
The population studies paper has a simple syllabus comprising of basic knowledge of the subject and a lot of current affairs. The candidate giving this exam must be an ardent reader of newspapers to get the various statistics and numbers correct. The paper like all the others is available in English and Hindi. The answers have to be darkened on a separate answer sheet. It is important to keep the paper neat so as to avoid losing marks unnecessarily. Also read all the instructions given on the answer booklet. Go through the previous years’ papers for additional information and guidance on the paper.
