Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya began its operations in the year 1964 and the college was established with the initiative of a group of people who desperately needed a higher education institution at Udaipur. In the year 1977, the college was took over by the Government of Tripura and named it as Government Degree College. Later in the year 1997 on the 23rd of January, the college was given the present name.

Infrastructural facilities:

The central library at Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya has a collection of more than 26000 books and different laboratories like psychology lab, human physiology, zoology, computer, chemistry and physics laboratories are functioning under the college. A hostel is also functioning in the college for schedule tribe boys and the hostel can accommodate 50 students.

Computer facility at the college:

Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya has two computer laboratories with a collection of 30 computers in total. Also, the science lab in the college has 10 computers and the computer labs is provided with broadband internet facility.
