NIT- National Institute of Technology, Raipur was formerly known as Government Engineering College was established in the year 1956. The college was established with the slogan of mining and metallurgical aspects in mind as these were the courses that were offered in that time and thus the course is one of the oldest and ones of its kinds.
Infrastructure:
The campus spreads over an area of 100 acres that is divided into 250 individual blocks. The campus also features different auditorium for holding events of different kinds, E-based classes and also an extremely modern NET lab that features super fast broadband internet connection for assistance of the individual candidates and staff members.
Courses Offered:
The college offers different under as well as post graduate courses in Engineering and the name of few of them are Bio-Medical Engineering, Bio-Technology Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, etc.
Admission Procedure:
The candidates that want to undertake admission to this college have to appear for an entrance test of national level also known as AIEEE. The ranks of the individual candidates derives the facts for which course can they undertake. For post graduate course, the candidates are admitted through GATE or IIT-JEE for the post graduate’s.
Placement:
The companies that comes by the college for recruitment are Vodafone, Reliance Tele-Communication, Motorola India, Wipro, Infosys, Satyam Solutions, Hindalco, Aditya Birla group, J&C, Larson and Tourbo, Jindal Steel, etc.
