North Maharashtra University organizes PhD in Botany Entrance Exam annually for screening eligible candidates for admission into Doctor of Philosophy in Botany course offered at the University. The candidates are admitted into this course strictly based on the score obtained by them in this exam.

Structure of North Maharashtra University Ph.D in Botany Entrance Exam

There will be 2 parts for this exam. The first part includes general questions to check the research aptitude of the candidate. The questions of this section will be of objective nature.  There will be 50 questions in this section. Each question carries 2 marks. The duration of this section will be 2 hours. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The second part includes questions from the core subjects in the Post Graduation course. This section includes both objective as well as descriptive type questions. The objective section carries 20 marks and the descriptive section carries 80 marks. The duration of this section will be 180 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should hold a Post Graduate degree in Botany from a recognized University.
  • They should score at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in Botany can also apply for this exam if they have an experience of 15 years in this field and also based on some rules as imposed by the University.

How to Apply?

The candidate can obtain the application form from the official website of the University. They should fill the form online and should take a print out of the same and send it to Director, Board of Colleges and University Development (BCUD), North Maharashtra University, Umavi Nagar, Jalgaon-425001. They should attach a DD of Rs.500/- in favour of Registrar, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon payable at Jalgaon along with the application form. The reserved category candidates should attach a DD of Rs.350/- only.

How to fill the Form?

The candidate should first of all go through the instruction bulletin given in the exam brochure. They have to correctly enter their name in block letters and it should match with that in the certificates. They should correctly mention their contact details, qualification details, category name, and also other relevant details in the appropriate places. They should affix their recent passport size photographs in the specified places as well.
