The PD Patel Institute of Applied Sciences shortly called as PDPIAS is the latest addition to the group of college sin the campus of CHARUSAT University. The institution came into existence in the year 2007 and it is operating with the objective of imparting PG education and to conduct research programmes in different disciplines of applied science like mathematical science, chemical sciences, physical science and bioscience. Several facilities like career services, transportation, sports, student housing, library, lab and computing are offered by the institute to its students.

Academic Programs:

The list of courses offered by the PD Patel Institute of Applied Sciences is given below:

• Master of Science in

o Biotechnology

o Biochemistry

o Microbiology

o Nano Science & Technology

o Advanced Organic Chemistry

The college is permitted to admit 30 students per year for each of the aforesaid first three branches, while for nano science & technology, its intake capacity is 15 students and for Advanced organic chemistry, the intake capacity is 20 students.

Eligibility requirements:

For getting into the PG courses offered by this institution, candidates must have completed their UG degree in appropriate disciplines from a recognized institution with at least second class degree. To be more specific for getting into the first four branches in the above-mentioned M. Sc programmes, candidates must have completed their B. Sc in any subject or B. Pharm/B. Agri/BVSc/MBBS/B. E with second class or equivalent grade. For the final branch (i.e.) advanced organic chemistry, candidates with B. Sc chemistry 2nd class degree are eligible to apply. Even candidates in the final year of these degree courses are eligible to apply.

Admission Procedure:

Admission of students to these courses offered by the P D Patel Institute of Applied Sciences is done based on the CHARUSAT M. Sc Entrance Examination shortly called as CMET.

How to apply:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirement for each course, can download the application form from the website of CHARUSAT at www.charusat.ac.in or they can get it from the campus of the institution or from the Ahmedabad centre of the institution between 10.00 am and 4.30 pm on working days. After obtaining the application, candidates will have to submit the duly filled in application to any of the centres of the institution by paying the application fee of Rs.600  in the form of cash or in the form of DD drawn in favor of P.D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences payable at Anand or Changa.

Placement cell:

There is a common placement cell functioning in the campus of CHARUSAT for offering placement facilities to students of different institutions functioning in the same campus.
