Abbreviated as NIOT, National Institute of Ocean Technology is situated in Chennai and the institute is a technical arm of the Ministry of Earth Sciences of Indian Government. National Institute of Ocean Technology is planning to recruit candidates for different administrative positions on contract basis on consolidated pay basis and here are the details regarding the notification issued by the institute in this respect:

Name of the Vacancies: Project Officers, Project Executive and Project Junior Assistant

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 24, which is divided among the three positions as follows:

• Project Officers (for material management, personal management including legal matters, finance and accounts and logistics) – 4 (Post Code PO-001)

• Project Executive – 08 (Post Code PE-003)

• Project Junior Assistant – 12 (Post Code PJE-005)

Duration of employment: The duration of engagement of candidates for all three positions would be three years or co-terminus with the project in which the candidate is engaged, whichever is earlier.

Salary: Salary range for Project Officer position is Rs.43300-48100, for Project Executive position is Rs.17400-19200 and for Project Junior Assistant position is Rs.14200-15800. The actual salary will be fixed anywhere between the salary range given for each position based on the suitability, experience and qualification of each individual candidate.

Age: Upper age limit is 40 years for Project Officers, 33 for Project Executive and 30 years for Project Junior Assistant. For Project officer and Project Executive positions, upper age limit is relaxable for Ex-servicemen and government employees.
