This paper is included in the 1st semester of Production Engineering. Its subject code is PE 504. It is one of the 6 papers that one needs to qualify to go for the second semester. The paper is not only very important from the course point of view, but it is also one of the subjects that are important if one wants to learn something about the trade production engineering.

About the subject:

Welding technology deals with the study of the techniques of welding. There are plenty of things and factors that one needs to learn about welding, and this subject helps the students in learning all those important topics. The topics includes various kinds of welding, the various parameters that has to be taken in account while welding, different temperature for different metal welding, additional processes involved in welding and other related things.

Paper pattern:

PTU M.Tech in Production Engineering Welding Technology Papers consists of 8 questions in the question paper. These 8 questions are asked from every part of the syllabus. Students however, have to select 5 questions which they want to answer. Each and every question is of 20 marks, and is divided in to sub questions. This is done for ease of answering. All questions carry equal marks, but the sub questions have different markings. The marks for every question are given on the extreme right side in bracket. The questions are kind of long and descriptive, and are a bit twisted. However, the paper is from within the syllabus.

Maximum time:

PTU M.Tech in Production Engineering Welding Technology Paper is a 3 hours paper.

Maximum marks:

The maximum mark is 100. All the questions are of 20 marks and the marks of the sub questions varies from question to question.
