Pune University M.Sc Chemistry Entrance Exam 2012
Pune University in collaboration with National Chemical Laboratory conducts entrance exam every year for the admittance of eligible graduates to its post graduate programme in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. The students who desire to take admission for M. Sc. Chemistry (Analytical, Inorganic, Biochemistry, Organic and Physical) at the University Department, both from other universities and Pune University must appear for the Entrance Exam conducted by the Pune University.
Admission for the students of other universities are for 30 seats and they are only on the basis of Entrance Test. Admission for the students of Pune university is for 70 seats (Open + Reserved category students) and their admission is on the basis of (a) B.Sc Chemistry marks (b) Entrance Test marks, with equal weightage to (a) and (b) .
Seat reservations
There is reservation of 50 % seats for SC, ST, DTNT and OBC students and the admission will be followed as per the Government of Maharashtra Rules (applicable only to the candidates of Maharashtra state). For Physically Handicapped Students there is 3% reservation as per Government of Maharashtra.
Structure of Pune University M.Sc Chemistry Entrance Exam
The entrance exam for the M.Sc admission in Pune University will be objective type multiple choice pattern. Questions will be from the basic core subjects one has pursued in their undergraduate chemistry program. The exam is mainly to test the technical knowledge of the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria
The candidates those who have completed the undergraduate program or those in the final year of under graduate program with chemistry / bio chemistry as one of the compulsory subjects can apply for the Pune University M.Sc Chemistry Entrance Exam. They should also possess a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for reserved community candidates).
How to Apply?
The application form can be filled and submitted online from the website http://unipunepgadmissions.com/. The print out of the completely filled online application form along with the application fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 350/- for backward community candidates from the Maharashtra state) in the form of demand draft payable to the Registrar, University of Pune has to be send to the following address- The Head, Department of Chemistry, University of Pune, Ganeshkhind Road, Pune - 411 007, Maharashtra State, India before the due date. Candidate should provide name and address on the backside of demand draft.

All the instructions regarding the filling up of the form is available in the official website of the University. The applicants are advised to go through it before filling the form. The candidates have to be very careful while filling up the form. All the mandatory columns have to be filled. One should also be sure that all the details furnished in the application form are true.
