Those who are involved in identifying noncompliance associated with tax payment and revenue are referred to as revenue officers. They usually serve government agencies that are involved in tax and revenue collection. They examine and analyze accounts to identify the issues in tax payment. They are also responsible to carry out meetings with late payees and those who have failed in payment of the same. They set up deadlines and plan for the payment of due taxes for such persons.

The revenue officer has the power to seize funds and assets of those whose who fail in tax payment before the deadline. They maintain records in the form of computer files on all transactions involved in tax and revenue issues. The candidate should possess adequate subject knowledge and skills to become an expert revenue officer.

Qualifying Exam

Graduation in any of the areas of business, accounting, or related field is the essential qualification required for the post of revenue officer. Experience in the areas of tax compliance and collection will be an added advantage. These professionals start their career in the role of loan officers and move to the position of revenue officer by gaining experience. There will be departmental test for low-grade candidates to get in to the position of the same.

Who are eligible to apply?

Those who possess the educational qualifications mentioned above are eligible to apply for the post. In order to pursue under graduation in accounting or business, the candidate should have passed XII class preferably in the area of Commerce. Apart from educational qualifications, the candidate should possess adequate work experience in the related area also.

Decision-making skills and interpersonal skills are also preferred from those who involve in this kind of job. Proactive approach in planning and managing things is another essential trait required for the same.

    I am From Faridabad
    I have to complete my XII th class from HSC.
    I am a graduate In B.Com.
    I am work in a accounts dept. in Belliss India Limited as a accountant (sale tax, Excise, Service Tax)
    I am also work with Advocate Mr. Suresh Aggarwal as a Trainee for tax related (exp. Income tax and Audit)

    But i want to a work in a income tax office as a income tax officer in Faridabad so please tell me the exam detail of this post.
