ICMR is one of the oldest medical research bodies. It major areas of work are formulation, coordination and promotion of medical research. It has various institutes and research centres under it which are involved in research and development work in the field medical sciences like occupational and environmental health, clinical research etc. 

Job profile: The scientists will be responsible for doing research work in occupational and environmental health, to plan and execute various projects, to assist their seniors and to lead the research group.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must an MBBS recognized by MCI or MD/DNB with a minimum of ten tears of experience in research in the relevant field or a candidate should be a PhD or a candidate must have a first class Master’s degree with a minimum of ten years of research experience in the relevant field.

No. of posts: There are 6 posts for the scientists in total which include 1 post in regional occupational health centre (Kolkata), 1 post in national institute of nutrition (Hyderabad), 1 post in institute of pathology (Delhi), 1 post in national institute of immunohaematology (Mumbai) and 2 posts in regional medical research centre (Dibrugarh).

Pay scale: The scientists will be given a pay scale of Rs37400-67000 plus a grade pay of Rs8700.

Selection process: The candidates will have to appear for an interview in front of a selection committee. The selections will be on the basis of merit.
