SSC audit exam is conducted for the recruitment of section officers (audit) which comes under group B of the non gazette post in the office of the controller and auditor general. The section officers are also appointed in various other departments of the government. The staff selection commission is lead by a chairman along with two members and a secretary and controller of examination. The head office of SSC is located in Delhi. It has its regional offices in various parts of the country. The main function of SSC is to recruit people for the various departments of the government. It conducts various tests to select people throughout the year. Candidates are selected and posted to various departments on the basis of the score secured by them during the test.

Structure of SSC Audit Exam

The SSC Audit Exam’s written exam will be for two hours and will contain subjects like general English, general awareness and arithmetic. Paper I contains general English and awareness as part A and part B and paper II will carry questions from arithmetic back ground. The questions will be available in hindi and English.

Paper I will be contain objective type multiple choice questions whereas paper II will have conventional type questions. Candidates should get separate pass mark for each paper. The second part of SSC audit exam is interview. Only those candidates who passed the first part will be called on for the interview and personality test. During the personal interview session the candidates academic qualifications, extra-curricular activities, general awareness, depth of knowledge of the subjects studied, communicative skills and over-all personality, experience will be assessed. Each part will carry 100 marks and therefore the total question will be out of 300 marks.

Syllabus for SSC Audit Exam

Part A consists of questions from general English. This will carry general grammar error recognition, fill in the blanks, sentence restructuring, spellings, synonyms, antonyms , comprehension passages etc.

Part B carries questions related to current affairs and to test the general knowledge of candidates. Questions will be asked from various fields like sports, politics, history, geography, science, culture, economics etc.

Next part is related to arithmetic where in questions related to mathematics is asked. It contains areas like number systems, profit and loss calculation, discount, interest, ratios, time and distance, decimals and fractions, use of tables and graphs etc.

The questions will be asked based on the subjects the candidates have studied from 10+2 onwards.

Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who has secured 50% of marks for their Bachelors degree examination from a recognized university can apply for SSC Audit exam. The applicant should be within the age limit of 18 to 25 years. Those who are already working in government departments can also apply. They will have to keep the certificate proving their designation.

How to Apply?

The application forms will be available to the candidates from employment news published in the newspaper. Candidates can also use application forms which are printed. The format and size of the form should be the same as given in the advertisement. Else it will result in the rejection of application. The post to which the candidate has applied should be written in front of the envelope. All the documents asked in the application form should be duly enclosed. No original certificates are required.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates should read the prospectus very carefully before filling the form. Any mistakes in the application form will lead to rejection of the form. The form should be filled in block letters using black or blue ball point pen. Paste photographs and put signatures wherever required. Photographs should be passport size and recent ones.

Study Plan

Candidates should have their daily targets fixed and should try their level best in meeting them. They should also try to solve at least two previous years question papers a day. Students should read newspapers daily and sort out the important news so that it would be easier for them to refer during exam time. A well organized and systematic preparation is necessary. Students are required to prepare for the exam daily rather than going through the portions during the previous day of exam.

Candidates can log on to the official website of SSC and avail their results by entering the register number given in the application form. The site address is http://ssc-cr.org/ .

Score Validity

The score of SSC section officer (audit) exam will become invalid after one year from the date of publishing of results.

    this site is giving wrong informations. Staff selection commission even did not published any adverstisement for
    C&AG or any auditor posts after 2008. The same post to some extent are taken from SSC CGL exam (conducting every year in 2 tiers- around july and september) and more now information received that after 2008 there are large number of vacanices reported in CAG (around 6000 as on 30/09/12). Anyway notification for the said exam is not published. According to the latest reports, an exam will be conducted by UPSC instead of SSC because of the change in designation of posts. Mostly the notification will be advertised by UPSC by end of this year and the exam will be conducted by april next year.

    SSC does not conduct any exam for SO(Audit) from the year 2011 onwards. Are you not trying to misguide the youth?
