Students of Maharashtra board have to undergo board exams where they have to answer Science & Technology papers. The question paper consists of questions from both biology and chemistry and requires the candidates to master the basic area.

Paper pattern

The question paper consists of five questions. All the five questions are compulsory and have to be attended by the candidates. The five questions consist of sub questions. Question 1 consists of two sub sections A, B, C and D. Section A consists of fill in the blanks. Four options will be provided for each question. The candidate has to fill in the blank with the most appropriate answer. There are four questions in this section. Section B consist of match the following. Section C consists of ‘True or False’ and consists of four sub questions. Section D too consists of four questions. In each question, four terms will be provided and the candidate has to pick the odd one out.

Question 2 consists of two sections, A and B. It consists to questions, statements to which the candidates have to give scientific explanation. Section B consists of four questions out of which two has to be answered. The questions in this section have to be answered briefly.

Question 3, 4 and 5 have two sub sections each and has to be answered according to the instructions given in the question paper.

Distribution of marks

The paper is for a total of 40 marks. The candidates have to attempt all the five sections and all sections are allotted 8 marks making a total of 40 marks. Each question within a sub section carries different marks. Candidates have to answer the question keeping this in mind.

Duration of the paper

The candidates are allotted 2 hours for answering the paper. The candidates have to be quick so that they can answer all the questions within the stipulated time.
