Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board comes under the control of Local Government department. It is basically a Punjab Government undertaking with its head office located at Chandigarh. The board was set up under Punjab Government Act No. 28 of 1976. The main idea behind its establishment was to plan, design and execute the variouys water supply and sewerage works of Urban Local Bodies. Investigating and surveying the requirements of water supply and sewerage is one of the major function of the board. The board has JNNURM as the main project under execution.

Job Profile:

Online applications are invited from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the following vacant positions of Sub Divisional Engineer, Junior Engineer, Steno Typist and Clerk in Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board. Candidates must ensure their eligibility for the desired position in advance before applying for it.

1. Recruitment of Sub Divisional Engineer (Civil):
No. of posts: Only 25 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

2. Recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil):
No. of posts: Only 50 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 10300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 3800.

3. Recruitment of Steno Typist:
No. of posts: Only 10 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2000.

4. Recruitment of Clerk:
No. of posts: Only 25 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Rs. 5910-20200 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1900.

Age Limit:

Candidates are required to have age more than 18 years which is the prescribed minimum age limit set for all the posts. The maximum age limit set for the posts is 37 years. Candidates must strictly follow this age criteria. Relaxation in age will be provided to the reserved categories candidates as per the rules of Government of India.

Application Fee:

Rs. 1000 is the amount of application fee that is need to be submitted by the candidates interested in applying for the first two specified positions. Rs. 250 is the amount of application for SC/ST/BC categories candidates,

For the rest of the two posts, the amount of application fee is Rs. 600 (for General category candidates). SC/ST/BC categories candidates are required to submit an application fee of Rs. 150 only.

The prescribed amount of application fee must be paid in the form of a registration slip challan which is need to be submitted or deposited in Axis Bank.

How to apply: Candidates should apply online only from 18 July 2011 onwards. Online applications should be made at CDAC Mohali website. Candidates will have to produce a printout of the completed application form with attested passport size photograph, at the time of the Written Test.
