The Kashmir University conducts M.A. in Linguistics entrance examination annually so as to admit the eligible candidates against the seats offered for this course. The Department of Linguistics at the University of Kashmir was launched in the year 1991 and it has an intake capacity of 52 students against the M.A programme in Linguistics.

Structure of University of Kashmir M.A. in Linguistics Entrance Exam

The questions that has been designed by the University of Kashmir for the M.A. in Linguistics entrance examination is purely objective type. Each one of these objective questions gives you the option to choose the right choice from the given four options. The question paper consists of 60 questions. One mark is awarded to every right answer where as ¼ marks are being deduced for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates those have passed B.A linguistics with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks from the University of Kashmir or any other recognized universities are eligible to appear for this test.

How to Apply?

The prospectus for the M.A. in Linguistics entrance examination can be obtained from the sales counter of the Kashmir University by paying an amount of Rs 250/-. All the sales counters will remain open on all the days from the last week of February till the first week of March.  The copy of each prospectus consists of a serial number. These serial numbers are very important as they are used to generate the online application forms. Thus candidates can also apply for this examination by submitting the applications online.

How to fill the Form?

Candidates are requested to visit the university website before filling the form. All the relevant details about the application form are provided in the website. Candidates must be very careful while filling the form. No mistakes should be made and care should be given that no columns are left vacant. Also a self attested passport size photograph must be affixed in the specified area.
