The Union Public Service Commission holds it general examination to appoint students from all over the country to provide their civil and administrative service towards their country. The Railway Apprentice Examination is taken to appoint groups of candidates as an apprentice for managing jobs on the system of Indian Railways. Physical Science deals with the phenomenon occurring in the universe and is an important subject.

Paper Pattern

The Question paper is divided totally into multiple choice questions and one word answers that are of limited importance. Question pattern is general and similar to every other competitive examination given all across the country. Question pattern and the type of questions aligned in accordance with the general graduation syllabus of the Physical Science subject. There are a total of 120 questions that are similar to all the other question papers of the UPSC examinations. Penalty for wrong answers are already warned about in the question paper and the penalty is in the form of negative marking for every three wrong answers and 1 mark is deducted.

Frequently Asked Question

The frequently asked questions are usually extracted from the higher secondary examination question papers and its syllabus. Questions related to momentum, energy, atomic structure, mass, weight, optics and quantum theory is involved. Questions usually revolve around the basic science and physics. There are lots of questions asked from the previous year’s examination on the Apprentice examination of the Railway. The questions relate more to the motion and dynamics section as the job offers the process of motion and dynamics only.

Maximum Marks and Time Allotted

The maximum marks allotted for the completion of the paper and to obtain full marks is 200. Questions are divided into unequal marks according to their importance so a candidate has to choose their answers well. The maximum time allotted for completing the Physical Science paper under UPSC is two hours only.
