Vivekananda Institute of Leadership Development shortly called as VILD came into existence in the year 2002 with the purpose of serving the nation by developing the potential of individuals and institutions for the development sector. The institute is offering training to youth, the corporate sector, government and NGOs to suit particular requirements on issues of leadership, community development and management.

Course details:

Vivekananda Institute of Leadership Development offers Master of Development Management shortly called as MDM course with affiliation from the Mysore University. The course is divided into four semesters and students will have to take up compulsory fieldwork in each semester and research work in the final semester. There is compulsory apprenticeship in the second and third semester.

Eligibility requirements:

For seeking admission to the MDM course offered by VILD, candidates must have completed their UG degree with not less than 45% of aggregate marks in any field from a recognized Indian university or foreign university. In the case of sponsored candidates, they must have put in not less than 3 years of service in a recognized NGO.

Application Process:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirement can get the application form along with prospectus from the institute on payment of Rs.100 in the form of cash or DD drawn in favor of VILD, payable at Mysore. Candidates can also download the application from http://www.vild.edu.in/assets/pdf/VILD%20MNPM%20PROS%2011-12.pdf and the cost of downloaded application is Rs.300, which should be paid in the form of DD. Even candidates can send a request letter for application through post along with DD for an amount of Rs.125/-. The institute is approved with an intake capacity of 40 students per year for the MDM course.

Selection Procedure:

Candidates will have to appear for an online entrance examination or an entrance examination at the institute and candidates getting through this examination will be called for interview. The final list of selected candidates will be published in the website of the institute and in the notice board at its campus. The procedure for admission will be completed once a candidate pays the prescribed semester fee.

Placements:

Vivekananda Institute of Leadership Development has a strong network in the development sector with the help of which all the previous students of the institute were well placed in the development sector. In addition, two meritorious students of each batch of pass-outs are offered with the opportunity to work as interns in Sri Vivekananda Youth Movement for one year.
