The V.V.P. in the name of the college stands for Vyavasayi Vidya Pratishtan and this college was established by the Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank Limited for promotion of quality education in different fields. The trust came into existence in the year 1996 with the objective of meeting educational requirements in the state of Gujarat. V.V.P. Engineering College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Government of Gujarat and it is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University and the Saurashtra University.

Approved intake capacity:

V.V.P. Engineering College is permitted to admit 30 students per year for the UG engineering courses in biotechnology and chemical engineering, while the admission capacity is 60 students for civil engineering, computer engineering, information technology, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. As far as intake capacity for electronics and communication engineering is concerned, the institute has an intake capacity of 120 students per year. For Master of Engineering course in Computer Engineering, the approved intake capacity is 18 students per year.

Training and placement cell at VVP Engineering College is pointed towards its core values of offering counseling, guidance and information and opportunities on campus for achieving gainful employment opportunities to its students. The cell has been successfully functioning for the past more than a decade and has been meeting the requirements of different sectors of industry. The institute has been maintaining relationships with many leading organizations for the past several years and the relationship has matured into different areas.
