Individuals who carry out a research about the structure, form, characteristics and origin in addition to the diseases as well as life processes of mammals are called as Zoologists. They also study on how the animals adapt in their normal, laboratory and non-natural conditions. Candidates who have finished their course in zoology can find jobs as zookeepers, curators etc. It is also possible for them to work in areas of conservation, preservation and breeding of animals. In this field, candidates can earn as much as Rs. 1,00,000-Rs.1, 50,000 a year.

Qualifying Exam

There are many entrance exams for joining the course in zoology. Numerous universities and colleges carry out individual entrance exams too. Some of them are: Delhi University Zoology Entrance exam, Banaras Hindu University Zoology Entrance Exam, University of Pune Zoology Entrance Exam, Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Zoology Entrance Exam and All India Common Entrance Test.

Who is eligible to apply?

Only residents of India are apply for the course. They should be atleast 21 years when they apply. Candidates who aspire to become zoologist must have cleared their undergraduate course in Zoology (B.Sc Zoology). They must have procured at least 50 percent marks in the final exam. After finishing this course, candidates can specialize in the subject of zoology.

How to prepare for exam and interview?

Candidates who are appearing for the written exams must be well prepared in the subject of Zoology. There are many articles and books available on the topic of zoology. Candidates can purchase this and refer it. It is also possible for the students to procure more information from the internet. Another method to prepare is by consulting others who have previously written this exam. At the time of the interview, the candidates must be truthful and firm while replying. They must also be polite to the interview board.
