Zoology is the science which deals with the study of animals and their survival in the environment. Those who specialize in this field are called Zoologists. Zoologists study specie characteristics, animal behaviors, and evolutionary development in animals. Zoos, National parks, Nature reserves, Wildlife services, Botanical Gardens, Conservation organizations, Universities, laboratories etc employ people who have studied Zoology. There are many options available for zoologists like Curators of Zoo or Educators, Teachers and Researchers, Biological Laboratory Technician, Animal Behaviorists & Rehabilitators and Conservationist etc. A zoologist can also work in private companies, as consultants or in Private television channels who recruit skilled and experienced zoologists for the making and presentation of documentaries on wildlife and animals. The remuneration varies depending on the experience, education, area of specialization, nature of work and the type of organization offering employment. Professionals working in the fields of development and research can earn an attractive salary package. At the initial stage of the career, Zoologists can earn around Rs.8000/- to Rs. 13000/- per month. With a work experience of five to seven years, this can exceed up to Rs. 25000/- per month. If an aspirant with all these qualifications is seeking for jobs abroad, he or she can earn more than $75,000 each year.
